In her experience Laura has found a lack of quality forensic training for attorneys.
She has developed several short courses from cases she has encountered to give
attorneys and judges the information they need in a format they can apply to their
own situations and cases.
Our expert, Laura Schile, has a wide range of knowledge in the Forensic field.
Training
Knowing that prosecutors often have easy access to local or state experts she feels
it is time to level the playing field and provide essential training to any attorney with
need, at no cost.
Laura doesn't define herself as a "defense" or "prosecution" expert, but rather a
scientific resource/expert who feels strongly that truth, training and assistance
should be equally available to both sides of the courtroom.
Over the last few years she has concentrated on the defense, taking a personal
interest in making government run crime labs accountable for their methods and
results. Laura believes there should be national standardization for all labs.
Training topics include:
  • Forensics 101
  • Non-specific analysis: what does it mean?
  • Discovery: what and why?
  • Admissibility under Kumho and Daubert
  • Motions in limnie: Why?
  • Hair analysis
  • Crime scenes for lawyers
  • Crime scenes for law enforcement
  • Forensic and expert problems
  • Advances in the forensic field
  • Advances in expert presentation
  • Experts in the courtroom
  • Law enforcement in the courtroom
  • The wrongfully convicted
If your state or local criminal defense attorney association or similar organization
would like to schedule a training presentation to coincide with a scheduled meeting
or seminar, please call or e-mail us through the "Contact Us" page with potential
dates and a topic that you would like to have covered, and we will be happy to work
to address your needs!
